RESEARCH PAPER DESCRIPTION:
Each person is required to complete a 14-16 full page (double-spaced) original research paper on a topic related to the Arab uprisings
Specifically, you must:
1. Provide an overview of the social, political, and economic situation leading up to the Arab uprisings in the specific country (or countries) where the actor under consideration participated 2. Provide details of any other specific events related to themes of justice, democratization, and/or accountability that were significant contributing factors to the Arab uprisings in the relevant country (or countries)
3. Analyze the actor’s contributions, including the nature and goal(s) of their work, reasons for their participation, the challenges/obstacles they encountered, and the impact of their work
REQUIREMENTS:
1. You must use at least SIX different sources about the non-state actor and the country (or countries) under consideration.
a. At least TWO of these sources must be scholarly/academic publications.
b. At least HALF of the total number of your sources must be those produced independent of the actor under consideration.
2. Review your research materials which should include the following sections:
a. Paper topic (the reason(s) for your selection)
b. Annotated Bibliography of the sources selected
c. Outline of the main sections of the paper, with a brief description of each section

Select at least six sources you intend to use in your paper and write up to one page (double spaced) summary of each source. These summaries can then be incorporated into the final draft of your research paper as needed. Be sure to include the following in the summary of each source:
1. Name or Title of the Source
2. Description of the Source (i.e. is it a book, news article, piece of music, painting etc.?) and the date of creation or publication
3. Author or Creator of the Source
4. Summary of the Content (i.e. what is it about?)
5. Description of the Relevance to your Paper Topic
