Please answer the question. You must write more than 250 words. per question. Of course not many people would like to dish out their income to spend on taxes, but they serve an important purpose. It is definitely not exciting to receive a paycheck and see how much hard earned money goes towards the state, but they are necessary for the economic state of the government. Increasing spending is a better choice than decreasing taxes, of course there is no way to guarantee that people will spend more money, but decreasing taxes is not the answer. Taxes do not need to be increased, but there is a better way to distribute taxes and structure the way that they are spent. The country is already faced with an extreme amount of federal debt, so substantially decreasing the rate of taxes would not be the right choice. Without taxes, there would be no government funded jobs such as police officers or firefighters. There would be no libraries, parks, or roads which are luxuries that many people take for granted. If taxes were decreased there would be less money to pay for these vital services. There are different types of taxes and each type of tax is set at a different rate. Income taxes are taken out of paychecks, sales taxes are added to the total of bills when shopping, and property taxes are placed on properties such as homes and vehicles. It has been difficult to generate revenue for taxes, so funds for public schooling among other services have been decreased. Nearly half of Texas’s income comes from taxes, so there must be a more efficient way to spend the money that is generated from them. A way to tax more efficiently would be to equalize the different types of taxes. In Texas, property taxes are extremely high so evening the different types of taxes our tax payers would not be so quick to complain about paying taxes if the rate of one was not so much larger than the other. Question: The rich face a lot of scrutiny; many people believe that the rich should be taxed more. Do you think that income should effect how much people pay in taxes or should everyone pay the same amount? The economic state of Texas is influenced purely by political factors and the constitution. The political philosophy guiding Texas is that of low taxes and consequently low services. There has been a debate on whether it is essential to increase spending on vital services or decrease taxes so that individuals can keep more of their income. Each choice has subsequent consequences through the outcome. If Texans are to pay low taxes to retain most of their income, it means they continue to enjoy low services from the state, whereas increasing spending on essential services improves the quality of what is provided by the state as experienced in the education sector. / Increasing spending on critical services is a better option as it boosts the quality of services offered. However, this means that Texans have to pay more income taxes to support the funding of the government for state activities. Paying more taxes lessens the burden on the citizens to cater for their services; this is because the government takes the responsibility. This choice puts the poor citizens and the marginalized at a better place of enjoying similar advantages with those that are relatively rich; this is because income taxes are paid at a fixed rate according to the earnings of an individual. The services provided by the state to its citizens are equal in measure, and this creates equality among all social classes for instance in education. The state caters for the services through the taxes, and the citizens do not have to pay out their pockets according to their capabilities. Therefore the gap between the rich and the poor can be easily bridged. One thing that ought to be changed is how Texas taxes. The taxing should be reasonable and substantial enough to support the government activities. The government should be responsible for services in the state especially those that affect every individual such as education. Texas should, therefore, increase their income rates and in this manner provide high-quality services and enable individuals from diverse social classes to enjoy the same services, this will also help to eradicate poverty in the state. Just to cite an example, the recent financial crisis in Greece that exposed the country’s vulnerability to the international community has insightful lessons to the world about the management of public finances. It is evident that the country used to borrow far much more than it could raise in taxes and other financial mistakes (Macdonald 18). This situation affected the nation’s economy significantly and therefore justifies the argument on increasing taxes. The argument is politically viable because the economy of Texas is influenced primarily by the political philosophies. The major decisions are also made politically, and the changes can only be implemented through a constitutional process. The changes may face resistance from citizens due to increased income taxes meaning they will retain less money, but the positive impact outweighs the challenges, for instance, poverty eradication and quality services provided. Question: What are the consequences of slow implementation of financial policies to the economic development of Texas? / @This student has not asked any questions, so just write down your thoughts. Personally i think that the way the Texas public finance system is currently set up is great. Texas is very different from many other states because it does not have a state tax. It would be foolish to change our system in order to give more services because being the type of state we are the services that are needed in many over populated states for example California are simply not needed as much here in Texas. Also having no state tax a a big attraction point for many people and has been able to keep many people living in Texas and being able to keep and spend more of their hard earned money. Texas has also been very successful at being able to keep property taxes low and property values high this helps our economic status when it comes to many business moving to texas, we’ve seen a large influx of companies moving their head quarters here because they can build a state of the art facility and have relatively low cost when compared to other major staes and cities like los angels, California. Now the only negative side that i can think of as far as not having state taxes and not raising Taxes here in the state of texas is the fact that we do not get as much funding for stuff as other states do. Even though we have a good sized population we still do not get crazy amounts of funding for vary many things specially at the state level and state wide through education. This becomes even more evident when we look at schools extra curricular activities and how the are diminishing down every year we can tell that this is where we mostly start to miss funding from state level taxes. Even though these disadvantages do set us back i believe the system we currently have should stay and we should not change a thing about the current system.
