POLICY BRIEFS: INSTRUCTIONS In the context of this course, the policy brief is a researched document that aims at addressing a particular problem and providing targeted recommendations. Five cases are suggested: you only need to choose one. Please make sure you indicate the case that you have chosen in your paper. It is recommended that you follow this structure once you have determined the case you wish to work on: 1. Brief background or/and history of the issue; 2. Exposition of the problem and actors involved. 3. What is at stake for your own country/institution; 4. Trends, recommendations and predictions. Some categories may not necessarily apply to your case but these are indicative steps. You should also take into account the specific instructions related to the case you choose. You may skip or on the contrary add some categories, provided this serves to build your arguments and to address your problematic. i choose this topic CASE 1: ONLINE EXTREMISM You have just joined a major online social media company.
