The final essay will develop out of the essay proposal provided. Please consider the following expectations when writing and editing your paper. They will form the rubric through which I mark the essay: Final Essay Expectations: Focus: Clear research question and thesis —thesis is developed over the course of the paper with significant contributions from sources and concrete examples Introduction: introduces your specific essay topic and builds up to your research question and thesis Conclusion: does not simply repeat what you have argued, nor offer very general comments: rather the conclusion can include a personal reflection on the impact of your research, potential future impacts of your topic, or how your essay contributes to our understanding of the media city Coherence: paragraphs of the essay logically flow from one to another Sources: minimum of five scholarly sources that contribute significantly to the development of the thesis; ideas from the sources ideas are connected to one another. Bibliography & in-text citations/footnotes/endnotes according to recognized style. You are encouraged to include additional sources, both scholarly and non- scholarly, credible sources Feedback from proposal incorporated into the essay Images, if applicable, properly labeled and referred to in the essay Mechanics (10%): Proper grammar/spelling, and writing style Details: Times New Roman Font, 12 point, 1/2 to 1 inch margins, double-spaced Include a title page with an essay title
