Topic: Executive Director
General Goal: To inform my audience about the role of an executive director, specifically in nonprofit organizations.
Specific Goal: I wish to educate my audience about this career of an executive director—the work, pay scale, and viewpoint—and to explain how an executive director can use their career to honor God by leading others to action, supporting the hurting and needy, and by demonstrating compassion and love.
Thesis: If you have a creative mind, desire meaningful work, want to inspire change, empower others, and if you want to honor God through your career, a job in the nonprofit sector would be a good career choice for you.
Persuasive Speech
Topic: Mental Health
General Goal: To persuade my audience to recognize the importance of caring for their mental health.
Specific Goal: I want to persuade my audience that caring for their mental health is just as important as caring for other areas of health, and that they shouldn’t underestimate the effects poor mental health can have on the rest of the body.
Thesis: The physical, spiritual, and emotional areas of our health are all intertwined, and when one is out of balance it will affect the others.

General Goal: To inform my audience about the psychology vocation.
Specific Goal: I wish to inform my audience about a job field in psychology and more specifically therapy – the income, emotional work, and to explain how God’s work can be done through the career of therapy.
Thesis Sentence: Having a desire to help people through their struggles, see the light in the darkness, and give people tools to live a healthier life are all ways that show Gods love through us and may also be a sign that psychology is the right career path for you.
Presentation Aid: Graphic describing how therapy can be beneficial and graphic of average salary of therapist in WV.
Persuasive Speech –
Topic: Addiction
General Goal: To persuade my audience that addiction is a disease.
Specific Goal: I want to persuade my audience that addiction is not simply a choice someone makes and there are actual physical changes that happen in the body to make it nearly impossible to quit without help.
Thesis Sentence: Addiction is at am all time high in our country and continuing to rise, but with the understanding of what this disease does to a person, and the love God tells us to have for one another, we can help make a difference in those numbers and the lives of the people suffering.
