Case Exercise 1: HBS 610-022: VF Brands: Global Supply Chain Strategy.

The objective of this Discussion Forum is to compare thoughts on what you learned from the situations detailed in the case study. You can also choose a question from the case form to start your discussion

Must begin with a quotation from the case study (with page number);
Must have at least 300 words (not including the required quotation) with proper spelling and grammar;
Must include your explanation of how the quotation address one of the Meta-themes (see the syllabus for the meta-themes chart)

Group Dicscussion Case 1 “VF Brands”

Instructions: In the group discussion choose 1 question below (original post of min.250 words) and respond to another post (100 word in,).

Question 1	You are about to make a presentation to a group of investors who are thinking about lending VF Brands money to expand operations. Explain the strategies your company has used to gain its current share of the retail garment market and why you chose those strategies. Be sure to include a discussion of your approach to (1) design and marketing of products and (2) production. (5 points)

Question 2	Create a timeline showing the different stages of apparel production. Identify what activities occur for each month or a range of months during a typical production year. (5 points)

Question 3	Describe the workforce that produces your garments. Whom do you employ and who is employed by others, where are they employed (that is, in which countries), what do those employees do, what skills do those employees need, and what do you imagine they are paid? (5 points)

Question 4

Speculate about the effect that your company has on the cities associated with your supply chain. Identify cities that might be involved and indicate how those cities might be affected by your strategies? (5 points)
