Thesis Statement: Humanitarian operations are critical in addressing large-scale emergencies like natural disasters, peace-keeping, and disease outbreaks.

I. Introduction

a. Humanitarian operations incorporate activities by non-governmental operations deemed to assist people who are suffering as a result of terrorism, famines, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks.

b. Humanitarian agencies address large-scale emergencies by responding to the emerging crises.

c. Humanitarian efforts incorporate donating funds to charities to help people in dire need of help, either financially or economically.

d. Humanitarian operations are critical in addressing large-scale emergencies like natural disasters, peace-keeping, and disease outbreaks.

II. Humanitarian operations help to address healthcare and human safety

a. Humanitarian NGOs fund health services of the vulnerable populations

· People in marginalized locations are prone to disease outbreaks like Cholera that need immediate treatment and these organizations intervene to prevent them.

b. Humanitarian operations involve maintaining hygiene and sponsoring healthcare facilities.

c. Humanitarian operations involve protecting and delivering care to the elderly and financially unstable populations.

· These organizations have funds specifically for funding healthcare delivery and protection of the elderly populations to prolong their lifespan and ensure they receive the best services (Debarre, 2018).

III. Humanitarian operations aid in responding to natural disasters

a. Humanitarian organizations respond to natural and man-made disasters efficiently during emergencies.

· “Responding to large-scale emergencies in a timely and effective manner, like the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the man-made disasters in Syria and Yemen, or the Ebola pandemics…” (Besiou & Van Wassenhove, 2020).

b. During pandemics, such as Corona, Humanitarian organizations come together and collect funds to sponsor and feed vulnerable families that have been affected.

· Humanitarian operations are special programs deemed to cater for the primary needs of people affected by natural and man-made disasters to stand on their feet.

c. Humanitarian agencies are tasked with mitigation, preparedness, response, and rehabilitation.

IV. Humanitarian Operations are deemed to enhance peace and safety

a. Humanitarian agencies deal with the intricate aftermath of crises, resurging violence, or protracted crises.

b. Humanitarianism ensures conflict-sensitive responses

· During a war or conflict, humanitarian agencies respond by providing measures that conflict-affected communities should put in place for peace-keeping.

c. Humanitarian organizations intervene both locally and internationally to address the key peace-keeping problems that affect communities.

V. Conclusion

a. Humanitarian operations are critical in addressing large-scale emergencies like natural disasters, peace-keeping, and disease outbreaks.

b. The effectiveness of humanitarianism in peacekeeping and public safety is that the organizations are readily available to address insecurity locally and internationally.

c. Charitable organizations have a mission to educate the public about hygiene and also sponsor the treatment of the vulnerable and marginalized populations.

d. Humanitarian operations also help to curb insecurity and respond to emergencies and disasters in a timely manner.
