Civil Service
Refers to all appointed positions in the executive, judicial and legislative branches of the government of the United States, except position in the uniformed services.

The “Spoils system” Refers to the practice in which a political party after winning an election gives government jobs to its supporters, friends as a reward for working towards victory.

The “ merit system” Refers to the process of promoting and hiring employees based on their ability to perform a job rather than, on their political connections. Administrative system The term refers to the total statutes, common law, and directives issued by the office of information and Regulatory affairs in the executive office of the president, that together defines the extent of powers and responsibilities held by the administrative agencies of the US government
-It enables the government to achieve its goals by giving an outline on what should be done and what should not be done following the available programs.
Policy implementation Refers to the process of passing enabling legislation by the congress which grants power to an agency to work out the specifics. The agencies determine how to carry out the wishes of congress.
-It puts the government policy into practice
Oversight Controls Refers to the review, monitoring and supervision of federal agencies, activities and policy implementation. -Enables the congress to monitor federal bureaucracy to make sure that it acts properly.
-The courts help to solve issues, mostly in the constitution when they occur.
Interest Groups Refers to any association of individuals or organizations, usually formally organized, that, on the basis of one or more shared concern, attempts to influence public policy in its favor.
The Association, British Extra Parliamentary Political Organization. ( Eugene Charlton Black,1993) -Raises issues raised at the local level to higher levels of the government for the desired action. The importance of groups in politics and political science (Frank. R Baumgartner and Beth, 1998)

Economic Policy Refers to the action that the government takes in the economic field for instance, taxation, government budgets money supply among others.

Foreign and defense policy This refers to the policy or organization that focuses on the relations between the United states and the rest of the world ,representing interests of national security initiatives and other defense related policies as well as individual countries included.

-It enables US to safeguard its national interests and to achieve its set goals with its international relations.
