One member of the World Economic Forum came across the articles What Does 1GB of Mobile Data Cost in Every Country? (Links to an external site.) and Big Data Analytics to automatically detect events in smart cities (Links to an external site.). After reading the articles, they concluded that creating smart cities by ensuring everyone on earth has a mobile device is the best and only way to achieve SDG 9. They want to create a plan to make this happen right away!

Before moving forward, they thought they should ask for your advice in light of what you’ve learned during this week’s module about data-driven decision making. Please review this module’s material and advise them on the following:

• What are some key factors when making data-driven decisions?
• What biases or challenges should they be aware of before devising this plan?
• Are there any additional considerations they should keep in mind if they wish to execute a plan in the country you represent? (SOUTH AFRICA)
